Why pre-book. A transfer arranged before you travel means you land knowing how you will reach your hotel. That matters most after a long flight, with luggage, or with children.
Which terminal. Sydney Airport has one international terminal (T1) and two domestic terminals (T2 and T3). T2 and T3 are about a five-minute walk apart, but you cannot walk between T1 and the domestic terminals. If you are connecting between them, or your hotel serves one side better, plan how you will cross. The free Terminal Transfer Bus runs about every 15 minutes, and the airport train takes about two minutes.
Early flights and late arrivals. Public transport thins out at the edges of the day. The Airport Link train runs from about 5am to midnight and the free Terminal Transfer Bus from about 05:30 to 22:30. If your flight is earlier or lands later, a pre-booked car does not depend on those timetables. Check current times before you rely on any of them.
Groups and families. The train charges per person, and the two airport stations add a station access fee on top of the fare. For three or more travellers a car is often competitive, and it takes you door to door.
Hotels near the airport. Most hotels in this guide are in Mascot, a short drive or walk from the terminals. Some run shuttles, and many of those charge a fee. Add the transfer cost to the room rate before you compare hotels. Our hotel pages show which is which.
How booking works. Booking.com lists airport taxi transfers. Before you book, check its Sydney booking page for what is included, such as flight tracking, a price confirmed upfront, and cancellation terms. Prices and availability are set on their site.
Booking.com is an independent service, not part of Airport Stay Guide. Check prices, availability and terms with them before you book.
