Getting around

Getting to and from Sydney Airport

The fast rail link from the airport to Central and the city, with one station at the International terminal and another at the Domestic terminals.

Airport stations add a station access fee on top of the fare, and the Opal 60-minute transfer does not apply there. Check the current fee on the Transport for NSW site.

Walk or free bus

Between the terminals

T2 and T3 are about a five-minute walk apart. T1 is separate, so you need a bus, train or car to reach it.

Allow extra time between T1 and the domestic terminals. The free Terminal Transfer Bus runs about every 15 minutes, roughly 05:30 to 22:30, and takes about 10 minutes.

A low-fare Sydney Buses service between Mascot and Burwood, stopping at the arrivals level of each terminal.

Normal Opal fares apply, with no station access fee. Check the current timetable.

Ranks at every terminal. A fixed fare to a set CBD area has been running as a trial.

The airport site lists $60 for a standard taxi and $80 for a maxi-taxi to the designated CBD area from 3 November 2025. It is a trial, so check it is still running.

Uber and other apps pick up from signed areas at each terminal, with the price set when you book.

Pick-up points differ by terminal and have changed before. Follow the green signs on arrival.
