Rydges Sydney Airport Hotel
The closest hotel to the International terminal: the airport puts it 181 steps from check-in. The easy choice for an early international departure.
Suits: International travellers flying from T1, especially on early departures, and people coming in from regional areas who want to stay overnight close to the airport before an international flight.
Why choose it: There is no bus or taxi to organise. The airport also lists day-use rates on request if you have a long wait between flights.
The compromise: T2 and T3 are not walkable. For a domestic flight you need the free Terminal Transfer Bus (about every 15 minutes, roughly 05:30 to 22:30, so check) or the train.

Our stay: We have stayed at Rydges Sydney Airport many times over the years, mostly the night before early-morning international flights. We haven't used it for a late arrival or a layover. Its location close to the International terminal is what makes it work, and it suits travellers coming in from regional areas who want to sleep near the airport before flying out. In our experience the noise is very low, and the rooms are quite spacious, in the style of a classic hotel room. We would stay again.
Our tip: If you can, book a family room. If you want the least noise, ask for the western side of the hotel. If you are looking for a meal, you can also go into the food areas of the International terminal.
